Galley kitchens are the bane of many of our existences. They aren't hip and trendy now, but let's be honest, many of us have them in our homes and aren't going to completely renovate. So here are the must knows for interior designing this small space.
1. Keep it light, dark colors will make the space appear even smaller.
2. Keep it clear (do your best to keep the counter tops clean or the space will look like a utensil explosion. Let's be honest, we all have junk....but note in the photo below, they've hidden the ugly stuff to the right of a wall, keeping it less in view. I always have paperwork on my kitchen counter....what gets dumped at your house?
3. Use 1 or 2 accent colors in the space and purchase not only accessories, but
storage pieces in that color. This galley kitchen uses pops of green, natural elements. Timeless.
4. Keep accessories to a minimum.
Bottom line, designing a great galley kitchen is all about keeping your design light, clean and simple.
